I basked in the blood

There Will be BloodI finally invested the 2 1/2 hrs to see this film.  I had heard all of the hype and knew it wouldn’t suck, but nothing could have prepared me for the beauty of the craft that went into this film.  I have NEVER seen an actor so consumed with a character.  I was in awe as much as in horror.  I giggled wickedly at the power and presence of Daniel Plainview in the final moments of an epic tale of metamorphosis and the darkness of man’s heart.  The unsettling score, the unhurried pace, and PTA’s affectionate handling of the narrative crafted a film that feels totally fresh and alien along side films of the past 10-15 yrs.  PTA shows the discipline and skill of a true auteur and may be the first director to emerge worthy to succeed Stanley Kubrick.
